Intern Program

This 10-week summer internship program, based in our Memphis office, provides participants with broad exposure to key functional areas across the firm, fostering a well-rounded understanding of our fixed income business and strategies. Ongoing assessments support both proficiency and professional growth, preparing participants for potential candidacy in FHN Financial’s full-time, two-year Analyst Program.*

Key Responsibilities

  • Exposure to numerous functional areas within FHN Financial, including:

    • Fixed Income Sales, Trading and Strategies

    • Investment Banking

  • Maintain databases, perform analysis, and produce customer presentations

  • Collaborate with team members to reach departmental goals and initiatives

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities, including working closely with mentors and senior management for career development in fixed income

Skills you will Develop

  • Bloomberg terminal for fixed income, including Bloomberg Markets Certification

  • Preparing client presentations

  • Understanding fixed income investment decisions and portfolio allocation

  • Understanding of corporate finance and financial markets

Qualifications

  • Finance, Business, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and succeed in the financial services industry

  • High attention to detail for written analysis and client presentations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and not afraid to ask questions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively

Preferred Skills

  • Previous internship or work experience in financial services or related fields

  • Knowledge of financial markets, investment strategies, and financial analysis

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

  • Coding skills in Python or similar programming language
